Email Newsletter lets Mike Communicate with District 3 Residents

Mike publishes a quarterly newsletter to let area residents know what is going on in the district and Gwinnett County. You can either sign up to have the newsletter emailed to you, or read it here on the website.

The December, 2009 newsletter was recently sent to subscribers. Mike shares his views on the recently passed property tax increase.

The April, 2009 newsletter provides updates on some of the new road construction projects going on in the district, and talks about Gwinnett's Park system and its transit system.

The January, 2009 newsletter describes Commissioner Beaudreau's progress on his 2008 goals, and lists his goals for 2009.

The October, 2008 newsletter provided information about the county's new Paws for Seniors program at the animal shelter, and suggestions for getting through the November elections.

The June, 2008 newsletter contains information on voting in the 2008 elections, along with a summary of the progress made by the county's Quality of Life unit.

The March, 2008 newsletter describes legislation passed in the 2008 General Assembly that could lead to preservation of open space in Georgia and how the Gwinnett Braves will benefit the county when they begin playing here in 2009.

The January, 2008 newsletter laid out Commissioner Beaudreau's goals for 2008, including ideas for improving transportation, possible state legislation and improvements in the county. It also discussed the county's 2008 budget.

The October, 2007 newsletter discussed what the county is doing to ensure adequate water supplies for residents, and talked about new District 3 park facilities, both opening and in the future, the county's new animal shelter, and a road construction update.

The July, 2007 newsletter provided an update on some of the latest things going on in the county, including the start of US 78 construction, a new ordinance banning the hiring of illegal aliens by county contractors, and the opening of new county facilities in District 3.

The April, 2007 newsletter talked about Mike's Neighborhood Tour, the proposed Annexation Law changes, and the commissioner's position on GRTA Bus Service.

In the January, 2007 newsletter, Commissioner Beaudreau outlines his goals for Gwinnett County in 2007. It also contains information on the county's 2007 budget, and recent grand openings and construction of county facilities.

The September, 2006 newsletter features a report card detailing how Mike is keeping his promises to work on issues important to District 3 residents, and information on a county planning initiative for 2030.

The June, 2006 newsletter includes information on congestion relief in District 3, a resource for homeowners associations in Gwinnett County, and information on new parks and recreation facilities in District 3.

The March, 2006 newsletter includes a progress report on some road work in the district, an update on General Assembly legislation, and a look at some of the things the Highway 78 Community Improvement District is doing.

The December, 2005 newsletter explains the county's new stormwater utility, the new zoning classification for high rise buildings, and the possibility of impact fees for new construction in the county.

September, 2005 newsletter topics include the new parkland purchase in South Gwinnett, and the final changes to the Conservation Subdivision Overlay ordinance.

The June, 2005 newsletter contains information on Mike's proposal for revising the conservation subdivision overlay zoning regulations, and the new Fixing Broken Windows Initiative.

The March, 2005 newsletter talks about the increased salaries provided for Gwinnett's Public Safety officers, and the Commission's approval for reopening Vines Gardens Park.

Mike offered his opinions on how the county can remain business friendly in a guest article in the March, 2005 issue of Gwinnett Business Journal. Read the article.

Commissioner Beaudreau Honors Cross Country Runners

At the Commission meeting on December 16th, 2008, Commissioner Beaudreau recognized members of Gwinnett's high school cross country teams who advanced to regional and state competition.

Team members and coaches from Collins Hill, Peachtree Ridge, Brookwood and Parkview High Schools were honored in the ceremony.


Loganville Fire Station Opens

Residents of the Summit Chase/Loganville part of District 3 are now enjoying a faster response from fire and emergency medical services with the grand opening of Fire Station 28, located at 3725 Rosebud Road in Loganville. The two bay facility was completed in just nine months and under budget.

Duncan Creek Park Opens with More Recreation Options for Hamilton Mill Residents

Hamilton Mill Area residents celebrated the opening of Gwinnett's newest park on June 14th. Duncan Creek Park, located on Braselton Highway, is the fifth new park to open in the county in 2008. It features basketball and volleyball courts and several large skate bowls where bikers and skateboarders can test their skills.

Beaudreau Qualifies for Re-Election

Gwinnett District 3 Commissioner Mike Beaudreau officially became a candidate for reelection on April 28th, 2008, when he officially filed paperwork with the Gwinnett County Republican Party for the July 15th, 2008 Primary Election.

Accompanied by Campaign Chairman Buzz Brockway and several supporters, Mike said, "I'm proud to run for a second term as District 3 Commissioner, and pleased by the support I have seen for my reelection so far. I'm looking forward to continuing to serve the residents of District 3 in my second term."

The Republican Primary will be held on July 15th, with the General Election in November.

 

County Honors the Cadets of the Gwinnett Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol

On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, Mike Beaudreau had the honor of presenting a commendation to the Cadets of the Civil Air Patrol's Gwinnett County Composite Squadron at the Commission Meeting on April 22nd, 2008.

The Cadets, ages 12-21, participate in orientation flights, leadership school and community service as they work to become future leaders. Many of the program's graduates are accepted into the nation's service academies, including the United States Air Force Academy.
