Gwinnett Municipal Association President Rick Johnson Endorses Mike Beaudreau

Lawrenceville, GA July 26, 2004 – Mike Beaudreau has received the endorsement of Rick Johnson, President of the Gwinnett Municipal Association and Lawrenceville City Councilman, in his bid to win the Republican nomination for Third District Gwinnett County Commissioner.

In making his endorsement, Johnson said, "I met Mike a few years ago through my son Matthew who is working in Washington D. C. for the Republican National Committee, and, just as he told me, Mike is a man of integrity who will present a much-needed 'voice for the common person' on the county commission. His refusal to accept developer money throughout this entire campaign shows his dedication to his principles."

Beaudreau commented, "I am grateful for the support of community leaders such as Councilman Johnson. If elected, I look forward to working with him and other members of the Gwinnett Municipal Association in representing the residents of District 3."

Johnson's endorsement adds to the number of individuals and groups backing Mike after he took the most votes in the July 20th Primary Election. Other recent endorsements include the Gwinnett Firefighters and District 3 Planning Commissioner Chuck Warbington. The runoff election is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10th.
